All year we have built a community in the classroom. Part of that community building has been lunch bunch every week. What is your favorite part of lunch bunch?

Do you know what Archeology means? Archeology is the scientific study of past human culture and behavior, from the origins of humans to the present. The Powell Archeology club will be studying past culture by digging right here at Powell tomorrow afternoon right afterschool. What do you think they might find to tell us about our past human culture?

We have been discussing school schedules and attendance along with following routines. Some of you have related traditions and seasons to scheduels and routines; like changes from winter to spring or family traditions and historical celebrations such as Fiesta. Since Fiesta is right around the corner, I wanted us to discuss the celebration and what is our favorite event to attend.

My favorite part of Fiesta is the carnival. The rides remind me of when I was a little girl having fun with my family at the carnival that came once a year to the small city where I grew up. We are so lucky to have the great amusement parks here in San Antonio!!

What do you like most about Fiesta?

Have you ever received a letter in the mail? How did it make you feel to hear from a relative or friend? We will be creating our class mail system tomorrow. You will get a chance to personalized your mail box and look forward to receiving mail from your friends and peers.
